It is not fable that fruits and vegetables contain various nutrients that are very favorable to our health. It will be very assuring for us to get informed regarding what about fruits and vegetable that make them do what is commonly known that they do. It is generally known that consuming appropriate amount of fruits and vegetables will fight cancer in our body; well, my curiosity was nudge into finding out why? I went straight to the internet and typed "Fruits and vegetables", there were so many hits that would have taken me a life time to sift through. So I filtered the results by clicking "Search among results" and then typed 'cancer'. Even then the number of hits in the filtered search were still overwhelming. I hand picked a few of them that do not appear to be selling anything and they all seem to agree with each other in the information they present. So what did I learn about fruits and vegetables? I learned
that the chemical component termed antioxidant is common in them. I also
learned that some toxins which get into our bodies from the atmosphere or by
what ever means, get converted to what is called free radicals which start
unfavorable chain reaction in the body causing havoc and can eventually lead to
cancer. With the presence of antioxidant, such as found in fruits and
vegetables, the free radicals can be blocked from being produced and thereby
protecting the body from chemical components that are
potentially harmful. Thus, possible cancer agents
are disarmed prior to being formed.
So what is the conclusion? All the articles I read suggested that providing the body with ample supply of antioxidant such as found in fruits and vegetables will provide some amount of defense mechanism against the development of very serious diseases in the body. Fruits and vegetables also contain some other nutrients that provide appropriate medium for the immune system (The Defense Department of the body) to be able to fight the unwelcomed intruders in the body. Eating adequate daily supply of fruits and vegetables is very beneficial for our health. The problem might be that our jaws could be hurting to eat required daily supply of fruits and vegetable. Juicing is a very adequate alternative that also facilitate absorption of amply supply of nutrients into the blood stream. When considering juicing, whole fruit juicer should be considered first prior to deciding on extractor type juicer. The fiber in the fruits and vegetables are essential part of the health benefits provided by them. Leaving them out is actually subtracting from the maximum benefits that can be derived from eating whole fruits. |
